今年スリランカから到着した奨学生の絵です ミヒンタレー市への仏教伝来でしょうか（？）
「仏教徒海外奨学基金」の収入は以下の寺院と有志からです。與楽寺（北区田端）東覚寺（北区田端）寿徳寺（北区滝野川）釈迦院（千葉市若松区若松）金乗院（野田市清水）守樸庵講座（金乗院内）西福寺（北区豊島）西福寺写経会（北区豊島西福寺内）清光寺（北区豊島） 東福寺（豊島区南大塚）福性寺（北区堀船）福性寺読経会（福性寺内）光明院（府中市）金剛院（豊島区東長崎）、西福寺（豊島区）、松本いく子様と窪田成円様からです。
令和5年度はこれから募金します。お預けした奨学金の全額を、奨学生に分配して下さいとお願いをしています。
12 月5日にスリランカのサンガラタナ師からメールが到着しました。以下です。和訳は田久保です。誤訳ありましたらお許し下さい。
田久保海誉先生 お元気でしょうか。長い間書くことができませんでした。ここ 3 ヶ月間は「雨季（ワッサナ カロ）」だったので。 どのスリランカの寺院もとても賑わっていました。しかし、それもすべて終わりました。最後の行事は満月の日である11月26日でした。スリランカでは1月から新学期が始まります。そのため、2023年12月24日に学童への奨学金授与式を行うことが決定しました。スリランカの経済状況は非常に悪いので、仏教徒海外奨学基金のこの配慮は非常に貴重だと思います。ひどく貧しい学校（複数）から、学習能力の高い約50人の子供たちを選抜することができました。中には、10名ほどの大学生も特別にいます。授与式開催後には、奨学生が描いた絵や手紙、写真をお送りします。また、奨学基金を通じてご寄付いただいた全額が、低所得層の学生の教育状況の改善に活用されることを願っています。奨学金受領者の両親と全てのスリランカ人を代表して、皆様に感謝いたします。貴重な助力であることに深く感謝いたします。それ以来、スリランカの人々は日本人の支援を受けてきました。改めて心より感謝申し上げます。

How are you? I hope you all are well. I haven’t been able to write for long time. Since last three months were the “Rainey season”(wassana Kalo). Every temple in Sri Lanka was very busy. But all of that ended. That last ceremony held November 26th that is full moon day. The new school term in Sri Lanka starts from January. Therefor it was decided to hold the ceremony of awarding scholarships to school children on 24th December 2023. Since the economic condition of Sri Lanka is very low. I consider this care by your organisation very valuable. according to that, we were able to select about 50 children who are good at learning in the poorest schools. The presence of around 10 university students among them is also special. After it is held I will send you the drawings, letters, a photo’s drawn by them. It is also our hope that the entire amount you give us through the foundation will be used to improve the educational status of low -income students. On behalf of the parents of the scholar ship recipients and all Sri Lankans we thank you all. we greatly appreciate it is a valuable service. since then the people of Sri Lanka have received the support of the Japanese. Once again I would like to Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
